Tim Rubben

Tim graduated as a master in Chemical and Materials Engineering in the ULB-VUB BRUFACE program. He made his master thesis in the SURF research group on the influence of heat treatments on the corrosion behavior of additive manufactured AlSi10Mg. Afterwards he joined the SURF research group as a PhD student in October 2018 with the support of the VUB-AVN Fund, where he is supervised by Professor Iris De Graeve. In his PhD, he studies the influence of the steel surface state on the Hydrogen uptake and release in order to  better understand its role on Hydrogen Induced Cracking.
