Silviana Onisei

Silviana Onisei is a postdoctoral researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. She holds a PhD in Materials Science from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, where her research focused on waste valorisation and alkali-activated materials. During her doctoral studies, she was a visiting PhD student at KU Leuven and University of Patras, working on alternative binders and circular construction materials.

She also completed both her MSc and BSc degrees in Materials Science at University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. Her research interests include alkali-activated binders and alternative cements, CO₂ uptake in cementitious materials, textile-reinforced cementitious composites, and the durability and performance assessment of sustainable construction materials.
