Reynier I. Revilla
Biography
Reynier I. Revilla obtained his PhD degree in 2014 in Physical Chemistry at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology in Beijing, China. He joined the SURF group as a postdoctoral researcher in March 2016, where he has been primarily focusing on multiscale analysis and surface engineering of additively manufactured metals and alloys: From surface analysis, microstructure and microstructural defects characterization, to corrosion, surface treatments, and corrosion protection. Besides that, he is highly interested and actively involved in the development of nano-scale methodologies and metrology concepts based on Atomic Force Microscopy techniques for local physicochemical and electrochemical studies. This includes surface and electrochemical characterization of systems and phenomena such as Li-ion battery materials, metals’ native oxides, hydrogen diffusion through metals, and localized corrosion phenomena.
