Marta Cazorla Soult
Biography
Marta is part of the SURF group and a FWO SB doctoral fellow since January 2019. In her PhD, she utilizes both advanced characterization techniques and finite element modelling to better understand and improve the positive electrodes used in lithium-ion batteries. Because of the multidisciplinary character of her research, she is also part of the Estore group (Energy Storage, imec), where she studies thin film battery electrodes under the supervision of Professor Philippe M. Vereecken. Furthermore, she is optimizing an operando spectroscopic ellipsometry technique that allows to quantify volume changes and electrode dissolution during cycling that are of high interest in high voltage lithium-ion battery electrodes.
